Calling all wannabe farm hands

Have you ever wanted to be a farmer? Here's your chance. This Saturday, Nov. 6th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Livng Stones Community farm will host a community workday, where friends of the farm will have the chance to experience what its like to actually work on a farm. Lunch and drinks will be provided, so you don't have to worry about that.

If you want to come, but only have a few hours, that's ok. Come when you can.

The never ending Kale crop...

Hi there,

We're happy to announce that the frost did not kill our kale last night. So we will be bringing it, along with spinach, beets, collards, and brussel sprouts to the Dearborn Artisan and Farmer's Market parking lot on Friday Nov. 5, between 10 and noon.

If you'd like to purchase any of these come on by. If the times are bad for you, let me know. We may be able to work out a delivery.

Coaxing Co-Workers

I picked up some heirloom tomatoes, green striped variety, today during my lunch break in Dearborn. Too many for me to eat, so I cut up half of them and shared them with the office delighting in the looks on their faces when they rediscovered what a tomato tastes like...and that it doesn't have to be green. Finally...Home Grown Veggies from the Farm!

Greetings from Living Stones Community Farm! The farm is in full swing and there are pounds of produce ripening each day! You can find us at the Ypsilanti Downtown Farmer's Market each Tuesday from 2-6pm; the Dearborn Farmer's Market each Friday from 8am-1pm; and at the farm itself when you see the "Farm Stand Open" sign at the corner of Carpenter and Textile.

Here's a sampling of what's now available:
